Frequently Asked Questions

OpenStore Boost brings our marketing expertise, technology, and efficiencies from running nearly 50 Shopify brands to budding e-commerce businesses, in the hopes of ‘boosting’ their growth. Qualified applicants get a custom iOS app, which they can use to drive growth and build customer loyalty.

We’ll then select qualified applicants to join our 10-week fall cohort, during which we’ll develop ad creatives for you, assess your marketing strategy, and run tests to optimize your ad spend. You’ll also receive an insights report identifying growth opportunities.

After 10 weeks of working together, OpenStore may extend a proposal to buy or run your store, giving you time and money to relax or start something new.

Having developed 27 apps for brands in our portfolio, we’ve found that they can meaningfully increase order value, repeat purchases, and brand affinity. Having a mobile app also unlocks a free marketing channel, push notifications, to keep your customers updated on promotions, new products, and more. We created an app for one of our apparel brands, Jack Archer, which drove 19% more repeat purchases versus the site.

We develop your iOS app free of charge. To host your app on the App Store, Apple will charge you an annual fee of $99. Typically, building and maintaining an iOS app requires an inordinate amount of time and capital, and contracted solutions can cost nearly $2500 a year. We’ll charge businesses in the fall cohort a small percentage of net sales to cover the cost of developing new ad creative.

The deadline to apply for OpenStore Boost is September 17 at 11:59pm ET. We will notify accepted applicants two weeks later.

If your business is accepted into the fall cohort, our team of e-commerce experts will work with you for 10 weeks during which we’ll develop ad creatives for you, assess your marketing strategy, and run tests to optimize your ad spend. You’ll also receive an insights report identifying growth opportunities.

At the end of the 10 week cohort, OpenStore may extend a proposal to buy or run your store, giving you time and money to relax or start something new.

You continue to manage your business during OpenStore Boost. If your business is selected to join the fall cohort, our teams will focus on developing new creatives, and optimizing your marketing strategy.

You can report any issues with the app to our Engineering team through a provided form.
